Mariners claim pitcher Daniel Zamora from the Mets

The move was announced on Saturday and Zamora will be assigned to Triple-A Tacoma.

Zamora made four appearances (one start) with Triple-A Syracuse this season, amassing an 0-2 record while tossing a total of 6.2 innings.

In his big league career the 28-year-old is 1-1, 4.08 (8 ER, 17.2 IP) in 33 relief appearances with the Mets in 2018 and 2019. In nine minor league seasons (2015-2021) he has notched a mark of 9-10, 3.57 (81 ER, 204.0 IP) with 18 saves in 147 games, including two starts. He has struck out 245 while walking 71, a 10.8 strikeout-per-9.0 innings mark.

Zamora made his MLB debut with the Mets in 2018 and was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA (3 ER, 9.0 IP) in 16 relief appearances. He appeared in 17 games with the Mets in 2019, but totaled just 8.2 innings. He did not pitch in 2020, due to the minor league season being eliminated.
