Former Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson dies in car crash.

Former Seahawk, Vikings and Bills quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has died. According to a news release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Jackson died in a lone car crash 7 miles from his hometown of Mobile, Ala.

According to the release Jackson was killed when the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro; he was driving “ left the roadway, stuck a tree and overturned’. Jackson was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

News of the former Alabama State standout sent shock waves through the NFL. Former teammates and coaches were quick to send out heartfelt condolences and appreciation for Jackson. Along with being a good football player Jackson is remembered as a caring and dedicated teammate.

The Minnesota Vikings drafted Jackson in the second round of the  2006 draft. After starting 20 games in five years Jackson signed a two year contract with the Seahawks became the teams start. The Seahawks finished the season 7-9 but were 7-7 in the 14 games  Jackson was the  starter. After the 2011 season the Seahawks signed Matt Flynn, drafted Russell Wilson and traded Jackson to the Bills.

Jackson never played for the Bills and was cut when the season ended. Jackson returned to the Seahawks as Wilson’s back. Though he never started another game Jackson played the final series of the Seattle’s 43-8 Superbowl victory in 2014. Jackson’s last season with the Seahawks was in 2015.
