Sounders FC res-sign Alex Roldan

Sounders FC announced Monday afternoon the re-signing of Alex Roldan as a right back. Roldan was a First Round MLS SuperDraft selection in 2018 and appeared in 28 MLS regular-season appearances with two assists. Roldan will be competing for playing time in the upcoming season at the right fullback position after being originally drafted as a midfielder. We’re excited to bring back Alex for another season in Seattle and see how he does at a new position,” said Sounders FC General Manager and President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey. “He has been a great pro these past two seasons, and his experience with our club will allow us to be flexible with him on the field.”

Roldan, 23, has appeared in 28 games for Sounders FC over the last two seasons, starting 12 of them. In 1,174 minutes of action since 2018, he has recorded two assists and 14 shots.
