NEW OWNERSHIP GROUP ON HAND
Last Tuesday the club held a press conference and officially announced the addition of the new owners who would be joining the existing Ownership group of Adrian Hanauer, Drew Carey and Jody Allen.
Monday’s press conference Yesler Terrace Park was billed as the official live unveiling of the Sounders FC 11 new family’s ownership group. On hand were Grammy Award-winning music icon Ciara, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, hip hop superstar Macklemore and former Microsoft executive Terry Myerson.
CELEBRATING FAMILY
The gathering at Yesler Terrace Park celebrated community – a driving force in what inspired the diverse and talented group that came together to invest in the team. Area youth were invited to take part in a soccer event hosted by Sounders FC, with assistance from Sounders FC First Team coaching staff and players. A variety of other interactive stations were available for participants to take part in as they celebrated the Rave Green and community.
CIARA CALLS ON YOUTH TO FOLLOW DREAMS
What it turned out to be was a Ciara led rallying call for the diverse youth in the audience to believe in themselves and follow their dreams. The Hip- Hop star looked a group of Muslin girls wearing their hijab‘s and dared them to dream big, believe in themselves and not let gender be an issue. The star struck youth yelled back their affirmations. Wilson and Macklemore also spoke of their dreams of being part of an ownership group that believes in family and diversity.

For Hanauer the expansion of ownership in the club will enable the club to tap in too new resources and build on the clubs drive to win more championships and continue to be one of the elite MLS franchises.
