Reign FC Announce 2019 Roster

Reign FC announced its roster for the upcoming 2019 NWSL season. The roster includes 23 players under contract: 20 on the senior roster and 3 on the supplemental roster.

“I am very happy with how the team has performed throughout preseason. The group has been focused and intense during training and our pre-season matches,” said Reign FC head coach Vlatko Andonovski. “It feels like we have the right balance of returning players and new faces – the group has meshed well and we’re ready to face a strong challenge in Houston next weekend.”

The roster features seventeen players from Reign FC’s 2018 roster, and includes six new signings: forward Darian Jenkins, who was acquired in a trade with the North Carolina Courage; forward Shea Groom, who was acquired in a trade with Sky Blue FC, Spanish international defender Celia Jiménez Delgado, who was signed after being drafted by Reign FC in 2018; and Australian international midfielder Elise Kellond-Knight, midfielder Morgan Proffitt, and defender Taylor Smith, all of whom were signed via discovery.

Earlier today, Reign FC acquired an international spot for the 2019 season from the Chicago Red Stars. This gives Reign FC five international slots for the upcoming season. Reign FC parted with its natural first round pick in the 2020 NWSL College Draft in return for the international spot.

Forward Kiersten Dallstream – a Reign FC original – continues to work her way back from injury and is not under contract with the team at this time. Dallstream is training with the team and is being closely monitored by Reign FC medical staff.

Midfielder Jess Fishlock remains on loan to Olympique Lyonnais. Fishlock will return to Reign FC at the conclusion of Lyon’s run in the UEFA Champions League.
