The Seattle Sounders (12-5-9, 41pts) are nearly at full strength as the teams prepare for Saturdays Cascadia Cup clash with the Vancouver Whitecaps (11-7-9,40pts) in British Columbia. With the FIFA International break over the Sounders are hoping no mojo was lost as they return to competition and hope to improve on their eight-game unbeaten streak.
A win against the Whitecaps would give the Sounders the Cascadia Cup trophy and tie the Rave Green with Sporting Kansas City with nine consecutive wins. Oddly enough the Sounders eight-game win streak started with a July 21st, 2-0 win over the Whitecaps at CenturyLink Field. The Sounders are sixth in the Western Conference standings just one point above the Whitecaps.
Midfielder Cristian Roldan participated in the USMNT 1-0 win over Mexico and Center back Roman Torres took part in all 90 minutes of Panama’s 2-0 friendly at Venezuela. Both players should be available for Saturday’s match.
