Major League Soccer released the full 2018 regular season schedule for all 23 clubs Thursday afternoon. Each of the clubs will play a total of 34 games with season openers on March 3rd. MLS had previously released home opening dates for clubs on December 21st but not the full home and away schedule.
The 2018 season will see the introduction of expansion side Los Angeles FC, who the Sounders will host on Sunday, March 4th to kick off the defense of their Western Conference title in front of a National Televised Audience on ESPN.
The Rave Green will host two of its five 2018 Cascadia Cup match ups against Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps. The Sounders will play a home and away two-game series against the Whitecaps. The Rave Green will face the Timbers three times, hosting one game and making the I-5 south Treck to Portland twice.
The Sounders front office will participate in the adidas MLS Player Combine in Orlando from January 11-17 ahead of the two round 2018 MLS SuperDraft on Friday, January 19. Seattle currently holds the 22nd and 45th overall picks.
Prior to Seattle’s 10th MLS campaign beginning on March 4, Sounders FC is set to face Salvadoran club Santa Tecla FC in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, the region’s premier club championship.
The Rave Green will hit the road for the first leg in El Salvador on Thursday, February 22 before hosting the second leg on Thursday, March 1 on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. Kickoff times for both matches are set for 7:00 p.m. PT.
