The Seattle Seahawks ( 6-4) found out what life without Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman is like. Difficult and will take some getting used to. Sherman was placed on injured reserve due to a ruptured Achilles while Chancellor is recovering from a neck stinger. Both injuries occurred in the Seahawks 22 to 16 win over the Arizona Cardinals at Arizona on November 11th.
The Seahawks played a good defensive game in their 34 to 23 loss to the Atlanta Falcons ( 6-4) Monday night at CenturyLink Field.
Unfortunately for the Seahawks a patched-up secondary and an offense that is still looking to find a consistent running good will never do against a high octane offense like the Atlanta Falcons.
Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was 19 of 27 for 195 threw two touchdown passes and finished the game with a 115.5 quarterback rating. Julio Jones caught five passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. The Falcons first three and out came in the fourth.
While the game came down to a short field goal attempt of 52 yards by Blair Walsh with two seconds left in the game, the Seahawks continued to struggle on offense. The Seahawks finished the game with 136 rushing yards, 86 of those yards were from quarterback Russell Wilson’s leg. Wilson had a decent passing game to compliment his run production.
Wilson was 26 of 46 for 258 yards tossed two touchdowns passes but also had an interception and a fumble that gave the Falcons a 14-0 lead to start the game.
The Seahawks battled and clawed their way back into the game but they never led and played catch up all the way to the last play of the game. Despite the offensive struggles Wilson believes the team is moving in the right direction.
” I think we have great players coming off the bench, they have a talented group of guys over there, we have to stay the course and for use, we have to continue to score. we scored thirty points tonight we must have to continue to score, ” Wilson said after the game.
