No. 6 Huskies use dominant 3rd quarter in 42-7 over Oregon State

The Oregon State Beavers (1-4, 0-2 Pac 12) gave it the old college try  Saturday afternoon in their 42 to 7 loss to the visiting No. 6 ranked University of Washington Huskies( 5-0, 2-0). While the effort was sufficient the talent was not.  The Beavers held the explosive Huskies offense to just seven first-half points before the Jake Browning and Dante Pettis show took over in the third quarter.

After a gallant first-half effort by the Beavers defense held the explosive the offense to just seven points the dynamic duo of  Browing and Pettis put on a pitch and catch clinic that resulted in a 21 point 3rd quarter.

The Browning and Pettis combo combined for Washington first two touchdowns of the second half. A  Browning to Pettis five-yard  TD play gave the Huskies a 14-0 lead and a three and out by the Beavers was followed up with a 34 yard TD  pass play that gave the Huskies the 21-0 lead.

The two teams swapped turnover on consecutive series with the Husky defense causing a Beaver fumble that was followed up with a Browning interception. The Husky defense held the Beavers to a three and out and the Huskies returned to their scoring ways when Myles Gaskins galloped 32 yards to give the Huskies the 28-0 lead. A fifteen yard Browning to Pettis TD pass play stretched  the lead  to  35-0 and the Huskies  never looked back on their way to their fifth win of the season
