The No.6 ranked University of Washington Huskies (2-0) took care of business Saturday evening in their 63 to 7 beat down of the Montana Grizzlies( 1-1) at Husky Stadium.
Washington’s Dante Pettis set the Pac-12 record for most career punt return Touchdowns when he returned a 67-yard punt against the Grizzlies. The NCAA record for career punt return Touchdowns is eight and shared by Wes Walker ( Texas Tech) and Antonio Perkins ( Oklahoma).
Husky Linebacker Keishawn Bierria recovered his seventh career fumble against Montana and is one shy of the UW career record. Bierria led the nation last year with five.
Husky tailback Myles Gaskin scored his 25th career rushing touchdown against the Grizzlies placing him tenth on the UW list. Quarterback Jake Browning currently sits fourth on the UW career passing yards (6,928) and career completions(515).
The Huskies will finish their nonconference schedule this Saturday (6:30 p.m.) when they entertain the Fresno State Bulldogs ( 1-1) who are coached by first-year coach Jeff Tedford who spent last year as a consultant to Petersen.
