It has been a long, disappointing, and downright frustrating season for the Seattle Seahawks fans. On Sunday the Seahawks won their third home game of the season. No matter to the 12’s. The Seahawks sent the faithful with a feel-good 51-29 win over the Detroit Lions.
In addition to the season’s biggest offensive explosion, the Seahawks defense forced three interceptions. Cornerback D.J. Reed had two and Ugo Amadi accounted for the third.
BOBBY WAGNER INJURY
An ominous note from the game was the injury to All-Pro Linebacker Bobby Wagner who suffered a knee injury on Lion’s first offensive play of the game.
RASHAAD PENNY CONTINUES HIS COMEBACK
Penny had his best game as a pro-Sunday rushing for 170 yards on 25 carries and scoring two touchdowns. Most impressive was Penny’s cutting and acceleration on many of his runs. DK METCALF CONTINUES TO CLIMB THE CHARTS
Wideout DK Metcalf had three touchdown receptions in the game for the first time in his career. The three TD receptions give him 12 for the season with a game to go. The 12 TD receptions in one season are a career-best for Metcalf who had ten TD receptions last year. An encouraging sign is that Metcalf had another career year despite playing with an injured foot that limited his practice time.
LOCKETT SETS ANOTHER CAREER MARK
One constant through the season and Sunday has been the play of wide receiver Tyler Lockett.
Despite catching just three passes for 24 yards and one touchdown on Sunday, Lockett set a new career-high for most yards in a single season with 1,077 yards. Lockett also moved to number five on the Seahawk’s all-time receptions.
BIG TAKE
Sunday win by the Seahawks allowed everyone to forget a brief three hours and 13 seconds how bad the season has gone for the Seahawks. A lot of the Seahawk’s issues have been on offense with the defense having its issues. One game remains and win or lose at Arizona one of the teams most uncertain off-season in the franchise will begin. With rampant speculation to a Russell Wilson trade, firing of Carroll and or Schneider it
