The Seattle Sounders (0-2) will look to stabilize the ship Saturday night ( 7:00 p.m. PT) when they host the Montreal Impact (1-2-0) at CenturyLink Field. The Sounder are chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch after back to back 3-0 losses.
In a span of four days the Sounders were bounced out of the CONCACAF quarterfinals by Chivas de Guadalajara 3-0 on March 14th and four days later the Sounders were bruised and battered in a 3-0 loss to FC Dallas. Back to back 3-0 losses will send any franchise to some deep reflection.
A third consecutive loss will turn the deep reflection to some hard accountability discussions. While the Sounders will be looking to Saturday match as a bounce back, Impact will be looking to play the role of rude guest after their confidence building 1-0 home win over MLS Champions Toronto FC after losing their first two games. The Impact has tasted that winning juice and is thirsty for more.
The debacle in Dallas was the last time the Sounders were involved in a competitive match. Needless to say, the Rave Green is in need of a win. While injuries have played a factor in the Sounders inability to get results, the Sounders will have the majority of their star power available on Saturday according to head coach Brian Schmetzer.
Sounders forward Clint Dempsey received a red card in the Dallas game card and will miss Saturday’s match.
