Seattle Sounder FC coach Brian Schmetzer revealed that forward Jordan Morris suffered a significant hamstring injury in the teams 1-1 draw with the LA Galaxy Sunday night at CenturyLink Field. Morris strained the hamstring in the sixtieth minute and was replaced by Will Bruin. While the injury looked serious at the time there was hope it was a hamstring pull rather than the more serious strain.

This is the second consecutive year in which Morris has suffered a hamstring injury. Last year  Morris suffered a pulled hamstring and was able to quickly recover from the injury. Morris set a club record for participation when he became the first Sounder in history to play in every regular season match.

Morris injury will likely open a starting spot for Will Bruin who has eight goals and two assists in 25 games and  15 starts.

“For somebody like Jordan, you just hate to see it even more because of all the stuff coming up [toward the end of the MLS season and with the U.S. national team] and all the work that I see he puts in all the time,” Bruin said. “It’s just unfortunate, but it’s part of the game.”
